Alex Grace is the owner and Managing Director of Banana Moon, a world-class, award winning personalised clothing manufacturer, based in Yorkshire.

From Banana Moon’s humble home beginnings to its multi-million-pound turnover, Alex has led through significant growth and expansion, and was listed in the Yorkshire Business Insider's '42 under 42' list.

A keen entrepreneur, Alex is passionate about product innovation and sustainability. Investing heavily in virtually waterless printing methods like Direct to Garment printing, he champions sustainable manufacturing and methods for minimising the environmental impact of industry production.

A Force for Change

Determined to lead real change in the industry, Alex regularly advocates for the use of effective water management strategies, water neutrality, biodegradable dyes, recycled materials, pollution prevention, and screen print reclamation processes. His innovative methods reduced company water consumption by 25%.

Committed to only work with suppliers that share his ethos and adhere to sustainable business practices, Alex is a member of, and speaker for, the Manufacturer’s Alliance, a powerful group for inspiring manufacturing leaders. Keen to share his wealth of experience, he regularly speaks about how manufacturers can solve traditional business challenges with creative thinking and purposeful direction. 

After graduating with an MSc Entrepreneurship at Nottingham University Business School, Alex Grace joined his family business, eventually taking the reins from his father as Managing Director of the company. An advocate for positive leadership, Alex speaks passionately about putting his people before profit and credits this as being at the heart of Banana Moon’s success. He fervently believes happy and engaged employees are crucial to delivering exceptional customer service.
