Banana Moon recently donated some personalised performance t-shirts to one of our customers, Georgie Millar, for the Bastion Race for Life 2012. As many people know, the Race for Life is synonymous with the colour pink, so we provided some of our excellent JC005 Girlie Just Cool T-shirts in Hot Pink with a multi colour back print. When most people take on a charity run in the UK, the most they may have to deal with is worrying if it will rain, but imagine having to do it in the Afghan heat! This just shows what fantastic effort and commitment was shown by everybody who took part. So a massive well done from everyone here at Banana Moon. Please see the photos Georgie very kindly sent in on the right (click to enlarge).
‘On Sat 30 Jun 12, the ladies of Afghanistan took part in the Bastion Race for Life 2012. The event was organised by Georgie Millar and the girls in her Royal Military Police, Special Investigation Branch, based in Bastion, Afghanistan. The event consisted of a 5K run, wearing articles of clothing that were pink. The charity ‘cancer research’ is a close charity to many of our hearts and this was the Afghan way of being able to help. A total of 70 ladies ran the race in all different outfits, wigs and hats, all done in 45 degree heat! It was one HOT run!
A total of 1950 dollars was raised 🙂
And a massive thank you is given to everyone who helped raise the money and organise the event. Banana Moon supplied brilliant running t shirts which were ideal for the heat, keeping all the ladies cool and managing to hide any unwanted bumps.’
