It’s been a while since we’ve blogged at Banana Moon. We have been busy though, honest! So we thought it was high time we give a general update on what we have actually been doing for so long!
New Production Space
We’ve recently acquired 2,500 sq.ft of new production space for our print department. This includes the purchase of new screen printing machines. A new semi-automatic printing machine is on its way to us which will give us the capacity for a conservative 500 garments printed per hour. You’re thinking great but how does that help me, the customer? Well not only does it give us more quality control through consistency but it gives YOU quicker turnarounds and ultimately more competitive print prices on large printed t-shirts orders for instance.
Direct to Garment Printing (D to G)
Imagine your desktop inkjet printer being able to print anything you want onto an item of clothing. This is the general idea behind D to G printing. With the variety of design software and design skills in the customer realm in the modern day, printers are being challenged to re-create these including multi colours, fades and tonal effects. Those who know screen printing, will know that this really isn’t suitable for elaborate designs. We have invested in two D to G machines recently and are now able to produce literally anything a customer may desire on an item of clothing.
Our repeat customers will have noticed that our website looks a little different. We went live with our new website mid-October. We didn’t want to drastically change everything good about our old site but we have tweaked things like our innovative personalisation process. We have also widened out our pages by removing the left hand categories. One of the best additions is the new ‘refine your own search’ function by which you can now display products based on your selected requirements.
Have a go on the new website we’re sure you’ll find this even quicker and easier to use.
That completes the update on where we’ve been for the last few months, we’d just like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for 2013
